水凝膠 HYDROGELS

A hydrogel is constituted of a network of hydrophilic polymeric chains that can associate with large quantity of water without dissolving. Due to the nature of its composition, being mostly water, it has a high biocompatibility. The polymeric chains of the gel can be engineered to give a wide spectrum of capabilities to the material such as environmental response, mechanical properties and chemical properties. Hydrogels make very interesting platforms for the development of various tissue engineering applications (3D scaffold for cell culture or cell seeding, cell encapsulation, nanoparticles, etc.) and find their way to new microfluidics and personal diagnostic devices. The development of those hydrogels requires precise characterization of their mechanical properties.
