The Quartz/platinum-tungsten or quartz/platinum-iridium fiber electrodes manufactured by Thomas RECORDING permit the recording of extracellular potentials with excellent single-unit isolation, signal to noise-ratio and temporal stability.
Thomas RECORDING offers a complete line of single- and multicontact metal microelectrodes for recording extracellular potentials from single units and cell populations.
The electrodes are very well suited to be applied to the electrode manipulators manufactured by Thomas RECORDING but they may also be used for other applications including custom design systems and implants. Based on the fact that microelectrodes are difficult to manufacture, we take extra care to monitor each step of microelectrode fabrication. Microscopic inspections are performed and microelectrode impedance is checked to ensure insulation integrity and proper electrode impedance.
