摘要:In order to study the dynamic-mechanical properties of multilayer latex interpenetrating polymer networks (MLIPNs), a series of core/shell/shell particles with styrene-acrylic monomers were synthesized using semi-continuous emulsion polymerization and, after the film formation process, they were evaluated using dynamic-mechanical analysis (DMA). In this study, the size and size distribution of synthesized particles and also the surface topology of the resulting films were investigated via dynamic laser scattering (DLS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), respectively which represents narrow dispersive particles in a nano-scale. In order to investigate the quality and quantity of glass transitions in the multilayer structure of synthesized particles, temperature-modulated differential scanning calorimetry (TOPEM-DSC) was used.
The experimental works show that the difference between adjacent layers Tg, the final layer mass ratio, the amount of cross linker in the inner layers, and the monomer feeding method were highly effective on the dynamic-mechanical properties of the synthesized particles.
