At present, there are many manufacturers of surface/interface tensiometer as well as a wide variety of surface/interface tensiometer. However, there is no manufacturer holding such advanced international and practical new technology as "automatic accuracy calibration" and "automatic temperature compensation" for surface/interface tensiometer , with the exception of Shanghai Fangrui Instrument Co., Ltd..
The so-called "automatic accuracy calibration" refers to self-correcting on the whole error of test standard sample with double distilled water and pure alcohol as reference substance. Compared with the literature value, the errors are respectively ≤±0.1mN/m（QBZY-1）, ≤±0.04mN/m（QBZY-2）, ≤±0.02mN/m（QBZY-3）.
There is generally whole range calibration on all the surface/interface tensiometers. No matter what method is adopted, it is only to calibrate the instrument circuit, that is, replacement of a standard weight with sample measurement value. Whole range calibration is essential but incomplete for the instrument: the instrument with preferable whole range calibration may not be representative of actual accuracy for test sample. This is because no consideration of test error of sensor-platinum plate or ring is taken into the whole range calibration. There is strict size and processing requirements on platinum plate or ring. The platinum plate must be leveling and certain rough on the surface and can be dampened fully with liquid without any contact angle, while the platinum ring must be a perfect circle with its diameter, circumference, etc in conformity with the relevant standard.
The instrument can come up to the ex-factory standard through aborative adjustment, but after some time? The following circumstances may be occur more or less.
1. There is some scuff or scratch on the surface of platinum plate or some changes on overall dimension.
2. Platinum ring is out of shape, no longer round or flat on the bottom no matter how to repairing.
3. The platinum plate or ring is not clean no matter how to wash
The above circumstance must lead to large error in measurement accuracy. The higher the measurement accuracy requirement, the greater the effect is. According to the past practice, the only way to solve the problem is to purchase another platinum plate or ring. However, However, the problem can be fully solved by "automatic accuracy calibration", that is, recalibration by testing double distilled water and pure alcohol, which improves the test accuracy of instrument as well as reduce the cost.
